Technique -Banarasi brocade is a centuries-old weaving technique from Varanasi, India, characterized by its luxurious use of gold and silver zari threads (metallic yarn). Unlike simple embroidery, brocade is a “warp and weft” technique where decorative patterns are woven directly into the fabric as it is created on a loom.
